TAFS
Totally Accurate Flight Simulator is intended to demonstrate how the main forces on an aircraft work during flight, and how they change based on the initial plane composition. Try making different plane shapes, materials, and initial launch conditions to see what happens. Think about your inputs and consider if the result makes sense!
DISCLAIMERS:
- This idealizes flight and doesn't account for all real world factors
- The bodies are nondeforming, so you can do things like making a thin, fast glider that should really bend, or fold (try for distance records!)
- If your plane plummets, that is likely a stall. Think about why it happened. It could also bob up and recover if you're lucky.
- The launch height will be at least 2 meters (a very tall human)
- This was made using common approximations, and all physics is manually calculated due to constraints with WebGL. It is far from perfect, so you are likely to find parameters that break reality in some way (see scoreboard in comments).
Have fun and post a screenshot with your distance record in the comments!
